Terms of Use and Disclaimer

By downloading, installing, accessing, or using Aurora Security ("the App"), you acknowledge that you have read and understood these Terms of Use and Disclaimer and agree to be bound by them. If you do not agree, you must immediately stop using the App and uninstall it.

1. Nature of the Service

Aurora Security is provided solely as a personal safety assistance tool. It is not a police reporting system, emergency dispatch service, medical service, rescue center, insurance product, or guaranteed emergency response solution. The App is designed only to assist users in sending alerts and related information to the contacts they choose.

2. No Guarantee of Continuous Operation or Detection Accuracy

The App depends on the operating system, device hardware, available memory, network connectivity, battery status, background execution permissions, and other system settings. Because of these technical limitations, the App may be delayed, interrupted, restricted, or terminated by the device or operating system at any time.

Detection and alert features, including but not limited to sound-based detection, motion-based detection, or hardware button triggers, may be affected by environmental noise, hardware limitations, sensor inaccuracy, protective cases, user settings, or other external factors. As a result, false alerts, missed alerts, delayed alerts, or incomplete recordings may occur.

Aurora Security does not guarantee that any emergency, danger, accident, crime, medical event, or other incident will be detected, classified correctly, recorded, transmitted, or responded to in time.

3. AI Analysis Limitations

If AI analysis features are enabled, any on-device AI output, danger level, classification result, or analysis summary is provided for reference only. AI analysis may be unavailable, incomplete, delayed, inaccurate, or unsuitable for the actual situation. Users and recipients must not rely on AI output as a substitute for their own judgment, emergency assessment, or official assistance.

4. Third-Party Services

Certain functions of the App may depend on third-party services or infrastructure, including but not limited to SMS services, phone call functionality, mapping or location services, push messaging, cloud storage, or other external providers. The developer is not responsible for any failure, delay, inaccuracy, interruption, account issue, API change, service outage, authorization expiry, storage limitation, billing issue, or transmission problem caused by any third-party service.

5. User Responsibilities

You are responsible for:

  • keeping your device powered, functional, and sufficiently charged;
  • maintaining Internet, mobile network, SMS, phone call, location, microphone, camera, and background execution permissions where required;
  • keeping your emergency contacts accurate and up to date;
  • testing the App regularly to confirm that alerts, permissions, and related features work properly on your device; and
  • understanding that only the contacts you configure will receive alerts, and that Aurora does not monitor or respond to emergencies on your behalf.

Failure to maintain permissions, settings, connectivity, storage, or device readiness may prevent the App from functioning as intended.

6. No Warranties

The App is provided on an "as is" and "as available" basis, without warranties of any kind, whether express, implied, or statutory, including without limitation any warranties of availability, reliability, accuracy, fitness for a particular purpose, merchantability, non-infringement, or uninterrupted operation.

7. Limitation of Liability

To the fullest extent permitted by applicable law, the developer, author, and any related parties shall not be liable for any direct, indirect, incidental, consequential, special, exemplary, or punitive damages, including but not limited to personal injury, death, emotional distress, property damage, loss of data, loss of profits, or any other loss arising out of or related to the installation, use, misuse, inability to use, interruption, failure, or performance of the App, regardless of whether the App functioned as intended.

8. Changes, Updates, and Discontinuation

The developer may modify, suspend, refactor, update, limit, or discontinue any part of the App at any time without notice. The developer has no obligation to maintain any feature, correct any bug, preserve compatibility with any device, operating system, or third-party service, or continue providing the App for any period of time.

9. No Substitute for Official Help

If you are in immediate danger or require urgent assistance, you should contact local emergency services, law enforcement, medical professionals, or other official emergency channels as soon as possible. The App is not a substitute for official emergency response.

10. Acceptance of Risk

By using the App, you acknowledge and accept all risks associated with relying on software-based personal safety tools, including the risk that alerts may fail, be delayed, be incomplete, or never be delivered.

11. Eligibility and Lawful Use

You may use the App only for lawful personal safety purposes and in compliance with all applicable laws and regulations. You must not use the App to harass, threaten, deceive, spam, stalk, impersonate, or otherwise harm any person, or to send false, misleading, or abusive alerts. You are solely responsible for how you use the App and for any content, communication, or alert triggered through it.
